A generic histogram on a phone screen is useless for judging N-Log exposure because the tonal distribution sits in a compressed midrange; you need a transfer-function-aware readout to avoid clipping stops you can't recover in post.

Parallax Monitor provides zebra overlays and a "traffic light" clipping system alongside the waveforms. No word on whether IRE thresholds are user-adjustable or locked to Nikon's recommended knee points. That's a metric worth testing immediately—the difference between a 90-IRE clip warning and a 70-IRE soft-knee alert is roughly a full stop of highlight latitude on N-Log.

Focus Control and Anamorphic Desqueeze

The app includes a touch-based "Pull tool" with focus peaking overlay and a trigger labeled "Cinematic AF"—marketing language, but functionally it appears to be a single-shot AF-engage command mapped to the live view feed. Whether the latency over Wi-Fi is tolerable for a live pull remains an open tolerance to measure. Most Wi-Fi live-view stacks add 150–300 ms of delay; anything above 200 ms makes reactive focus pulls unreliable.

Anamorphic desqueeze is offered at 1.33×, 1.5×, 1.8×, 2×, and a custom ratio input. Real-time desqueeze on a phone display is a genuine utility for shooters verifying frame composition with vintage glass—no external monitor required. The aspect-ratio overlay set also covers multi-deliverable framing checks, useful when a single take needs to land in 16:9, 2.39:1, and 9:16 simultaneously.

Playback LUT preview is listed, but the source provides no detail on supported LUT formats—whether it reads.cube files, Nikon's internal N-Log 3D LUT, or only a baked-in preview set.
